Peter Friedman
Filmmaker Biography
Peter Friedman did his undergraduate work Hampshire College in Massachusetts, where his thesis film received an Academy Award nomination. He then studied screenwriting and directing at Columbia University’s MFA program, co-chaired by Milos Forman and Frank Daniel. After that he edited a variety of independent films and television shows and was nominated for an Emmy for Best Documentary Editing. Then he produced and directed (or co-directed) all the films on this website.
In the past few years he served on competition juries at the Amsterdam International
Documentary Festival, the Visions du Réel Film Festival in Nyon, Switzerland, and the
FIPA (Festival International de Programmes Audiovisuels) in Biarritz, France.
He lives in Paris and New York City.
